BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A school nurse and aide were assaulted by a student at a Baltimore city school Wednesday morning.
It’s the same student that attacked a cafeteria worker at that school back in November, according to several sources.

City schools officials said this incident occurred at the National Academy Foundation around 11 a.m.

Union Forms Task Force As Another Schools Staffer Assaulted

A Facebook post from a woman claiming to be the nurse’s aide and a victim of the attack shows pictures of her injuries.

In it she said she was assaulted by the same student that was seen on video attacking on a cafeteria worker at the school last month.

The woman claims the student bit her, pulled out her hair and she suffered bruises and scrapes.

We also obtained pictures, but we are choosing not to identify her at this time.

School officials have not confirmed if in fact it is the same student.

The teacher’s union very interested in examining the district’s code of conduct to see if it too lenient on students that assault staff.

Nearly a month after this video of a cafeteria worker being attacked by students at the national academy foundation went viral, WJZ has learned it has happened yet again.

In a statement to WJZ, school officials confirming the attack writing in part “the student was taken into custody by school police and transported to the department of juvenile services. The student also faces consequences in accordance with the district’s code of conduct”

This assault follows a streak of others at city schools like this one showing a student punching a teacher at Frederick Douglass High School.

The violence so rampant that school leaders formed a special school safety task force.

Their first meeting held just last week.

The president of the teacher’s union demanding answers.

“I’ve been horrified. I’ve been very upset. What caused this to happen and why is this continuing to happen again and again in our schools?” said Marietta English.

On Wednesday, president issuing this statement which says in part — “under no circumstance should this student have been allowed to be readmitted to NAF after assaulting the cafeteria worker in November. This is precisely the reason why the BTU formed the school safety task force.”

“Under no circumstances should this student have been allowed to be readmitted to NAF after assaulting the cafeteria worker in November. This is precisely the reason why the BTU formed the School Safety Task force so we could examine the Code of Conduct and strengthen the consequences that must be applied to students who assault school employees.

In the coming weeks the Task Force will be releasing comprehensive recommendations on how we should move forward.”

Both staff members sustained injuries from the assault.

The student was taken into custody by city schools’ police and taken to the Department of Juvenile Service.

“The student also faces consequences in accordance with the district’s code of conduct,” schools officials said in the statement to WJZ.
