DIMOCK TOWNSHIP, SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU-TV) Hundreds of students took a stand against bullying today at a school district in Susquehanna County.
The Elk Lake School District held its third annual Unity Day.
Students wore orange shirts and walked together around the school districts track.
October is national bullying prevention month — and students are learning how to be kind to one another and speak up when they see something wrong.
“It just really shows they’re uniting together and we take a stand, have each other’s backs and stick up for each other” Said Lindsey Williams, Elementary School Counselor.
“I decided to cut up little slips of paper and give them to every student in elementary school and it has an inspiring message to be kind to everyone but don’t forget to be kind to yourself too” added Gina Warnero, Fifth Grade Student.
Nearly 700 kids in kindergarten through sixth grade took part in today’s program.
