Suspect arrested in attempted child abduction near Twin Cities | #childabductors

FRIDLEY, Minn. — A Coon Rapids man was arrested Wednesday, July 31, in connection with the attempted abduction of a 7-year-old girl last week in Fridley, authorities said.

Aaron Daniel Johnson, 28, was arrested about 1 p.m. and faces possible charges of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and false imprisonment, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said the girl was pulled into a car about 1 p.m. Friday in the 7300 block of Taylor Street in Fridley. She was able to escape the vehicle, and the driver fled the scene.

The incident was one of three attempted child abductions/lurings in recent days in the east metro.

In Mounds View, police said a man tried to lure a 10-year-old boy into an SUV shortly after 1 p.m. Monday.

The incident happened near Irondale Road and Woodale Drive, but the boy refused and the man left the scene.

In Inver Grove Heights, police said a man attempted to lure two girls, ages 10 and 12, into a van shortly before 8 p.m. Monday.

The incident happened near 65th Street and Bonner Court, but the girls refused and the man left the scene.
