A Mississippi man is being held without bond for the murder of a 20-year-old college student who vanished on July 8.

Sheldon Timothy Herrington Jr., 22, has been charged with the murder of University of Mississippi student Jimmie “Jay” Lee, the Oxford Police Department announced Friday.

Lee was last seen leaving Campus Walk apartments just before 6 a.m. on July 8, wearing a silver robe or housecoat, gold cap and gray slippers, according to police. His car was traced to a local towing company on July 11 after it had been towed from the Molly Barr Trails apartment complex the afternoon he went missing.

“If anyone knows anything or sees anything, say something. Contact law enforcement. Just tell them what you know. This is my plea that you help find my child,” Lee’s father Jimmie Lee, Sr. said in a video posted online by police last week.

Officials said Friday that Lee’s body still has not been found and a spokesperson for the Oxford Police Department did not immediately return a request for updates from the Daily News Sunday.

Anyone with tips or information about Lee’s whereabouts is asked to call the Oxford Police Department 662-232-2400, University of Mississippi Police Department at 662-915-7234 and Crime Stoppers at 662-234-8477.
