Elizabeth Nicole Lenaburg is facing five felony counts, including two counts of indecent or lewd acts with a child under 16 and one count of rape by instrumentation. She was charged Monday in Oklahoma County District Court.
Lenaburg, 24, of Lookeba, was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County jail. She is being held on $250,000 bail.
Prosecutors allege Lenaburg engaged in sex acts with the student — who was 15 — between June 30 and Aug. 15, according to court documents.
Police reported questioning the student in August after a rape was reported at a hotel on NW 39 Expressway.
The student, a varsity player, said she “became close” with Lenaburg, a junior varsity coach, in the fall of 2018, an officer reported in a request for an arrest warrant.
A complaint about the relationship triggered an investigation by Yukon Public Public Schools. The investigation led to Lenaburg’s resignation in February, Superintendent Jason Simeroth told The Oklahoman on Tuesday.
Over the summer, the student called the ex-teacher and left her a voicemail saying “she wanted to have a relationship with her,” police reported.
