Teacher From Cherry Hill Sexually Assaulted Student: Police | #teacher | #children | #kids

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A Camden Catholic High School teacher from Cherry Hill has been arrested after authorities say she repeatedly sexually assaulted a victim who was 17 when the assaults began.

Bridget Sipera, 36, began assaulting her victim in January 2019 when the victim was a student in Sipera’s class at Camden Catholic High School, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Cherry Hill Police Chief William “Bud” Monaghan and Gloucester Township Police Chief David Harkins. The assaults continued through March of this year, according to authorities.

During the investigation, detectives said Spiera admitted to sexual assaults that took place in multiple towns.

Spiera was arrested on Wednesday and charged with one count of second-degree sexual assault and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. She was also charged with one count of second-degree sexual assault and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child for crimes that occurred in Gloucester Township. She may face more charges.

Sipera was taken to the Camden County Correctional Facility, where she awaits a first court appearance.
