The 18-year-old injured in a drug-related fatal shooting last week has been upgraded to fair condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Michael Stallone had been listed in critical condition Friday afternoon, after he was shot in the back multiple times late Wednesday night.
Reports show Stallone and his friend, 17-year-old Marcos Aleman, were about to buy marijuana from a third teen when the shooting took place on 50th Street Southwest in Golden Gate Estates.
Collier deputies later arrested 17-year-old Meliton Cruz Jr., who is facing charges of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder in the shooting.
Aleman died at the scene but Stallone was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. He was brought in in fair condition, then worsened to critical condition before improving Monday.
Reports show that Cruz was the victim of a drug-related robbery about two weeks before the shooting. Detectives say there is no indication that Aleman was involved in that crime.
