Canadian teens are taking part in a new digital project that connects them with young people caught up in the ongoing civil war in Syria. Called A Tale of Two Cities, the project allows Canadian and Syrian teens to bond as they speak through translators. The project is intended to balance out the extremism and hate that can be found on social media. Canadian teens have also created a #Salt4Syria social media campaign. It encourages people to share videos of friends and family eating a pinch of salt (representing the bitterness of war) to raise awareness of the ongoing conflict.
