CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – After over a year layoff, Clarksville native Jacob Kilburn will make his long awaited return to the octagon Saturday, Jan. 16 at UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs. Kattar.

“The Killer” is set to take on Austin “Lights Out” Lingo in a featherweight bout, as both fighters look to rebound from losses in their UFC debuts.

Not long after losing by submission against Billy Quarantillo in December of 2019 at UFC on ESPN 7, Kilburn began training at the world-renowned mixed martial arts academy American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida.

The gym is called home by many of today’s top fighters including current UFC women’s bantamweight and featherweight champion Amanda Nunes, UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal and former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier.

Before beginning his UFC career, Kilburn was a karate and jiu-jitsu instructor at Harris Holt Martial Arts Academy in Clarksville.

Saturday’s fight between Kilburn (8-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and Lingo (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will take place on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, Dubai. It will be the promotion’s seventh event held at the venue and first event of the new year.

As of now, the contest is set to be the first preliminary fight on the undercard and can be streamed through the ESPN+ app around 11 a.m. central time.
