Trio Broke Into Motel Room, Robbed, Stabbed Men: Nassau Police | #teacher | #children | #kids

WEST HEMPSTEAD, NY — Three teenagers were arrested after Nassau County police said they entered a motel room, robbed two people and stabbed one of them before fleeing.

Police arrested Bishop Wilkerson, 19, of Pinelawn Avenue, Copiague; Judah Hernandez, 18, of Woodland Road, Valley Stream; and Alonzo Loyala, 18, of East Valley Stream Boulevard, Valley Stream.

The three teenagers entered a room at the Capri Motor Inn in West Hempstead at about 12:40 a.m. and confronted the 18- and 19-year-old men there, police said. They pulled out guns and knives and demanded the victims’ money, clothes and cell phones, police said. After the men gave over their things, they tried to get the gun from one of the robbers, police said, and the 19-year-old was stabbed.

The trio fled the scene in a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. Around 4:10 a.m., Nassau County police found the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Third Avenue in Mineola, police said.

The 19-year-old stabbing victim suffered deep cuts to his stomach, police said, and was taken to a hospital.

Wilkerson and Hernandez are each charged with six counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree robbery, two counts of first-degree assault, three counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm and first-degree criminal use of a firearm.

Loyala is charged with six counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree robbery, two counts of first-degree assault, three counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

All three are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
