Two hospitalized after Shelton crash, car fire | #schoolshooting



SHELTON — Two people were hospitalized after a car crash on River Road early Sunday, officials said.

Around 3:46 a.m., the Shelton Fire Department was alerted to a motor vehicle accident on River Road in the area of Trolley Bridge Road. Dispatch told them that a vehicle may be on fire with a victim still inside, officials said.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered the two-car crash that had set the cars on fire. They confirmed that one occupant was out of the vehicle, and bystanders had removed the other occupant, officials said.

Officials said that shortly after both vehicles were involved in fire and members of the fire department assisted in moving the victims further away from the fire as other members began extinguishing the vehicles.


Once EMS arrived, both Rodriguez and Odice were taken to a local hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries.


The Shelton Police Traffic Division Reconstruction Team is currently investigating the incident. No enforcement action has been taken at this time, officials said.
