FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL – The Decatur Eagles (5-4, 4-0) will look to close the books on District 4-4A Division I play with their final regular season game against Wichita Falls Hirschi tonight at 7 at Eagle Stadium. The Bridgeport Bulls (1-5, 0-2) will travel to battle Vernon for a 3-4AII bout at 7 p.m. The Boyd Yellowjackets (7-1, 4-1) will battle in a 4-3AI road battle against Pilot Point at 7:30 p.m. The Paradise Panthers (5-3, 2-3) will host Whitesboro for Senior Night at 7:30 p.m. The Chico Dragons (1-6, 1-2) will finish 7-2AII play against Muenster at 7 p.m. in Muenster. Alvord is off tonight.
BI-DISTRICT VOLLEYBALL FINALS – The Decatur Lady Eagles (26-1, 12-0) claimed a sweep against Eastern Hills in their playoff opener at home last night, 25-6, 25-0, 25-8. The Boyd Lady Jackets (26-4, 13-1) swept Life Oak Cliff in their bi-district match, 254, 25-6, 25-6. The Chico Lady Dragons (12-12, 10-5) defeated Windthorst in a sweep, 25-13, 25-9, 25-19. The Alvord Lady Bulldogs (13-13, 9-6) ended their season with a loss to Archer City in four sets, 17-25, 25-20, 25-13, 25-11.

FALL FEST – Decatur Public Library will hold a drive-thru Fall Fest today. Drive through the parking lot anytime between 4-5:30 p.m. to grab books, crafts and candy. Decatur Police and Fire Departments will be on hand.
CHICO TRUNK OR TREAT – The Chico Parks Board will present a Trunk or Treat event 5:30 p.m.-dark Saturday on the Chico Square. Residents are invited to park around the square to participate. Call City Hall at 940-644-2435 to reserve your spot. The event will also feature kids’ costume contests for five age groups.
NO HALLOWEEN/NATIONAL NIGHT OUT EVENT IN BRIDGEPORT – Bridgeport Police Chief Steve Stanford said officers will not be in the Boston/Fair Oaks area for their annual Halloween night National Night Out-type event this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Stanford said the event usually draws thousands of people to a relatively small area, and they didn’t think it was possible to have a safe event this year.
5TH QUARTER – First Baptist Church of Decatur will host 5th quarter immediately following the Decatur vs. Wichita Falls Hirshi varsity football game tonight and ending at 12:30 a.m. It will include free food, including Chick-fil-A, inflatables, games, prizes and more. All 7th through 12th graders are invited.
HALLOWEEN RUN – The Air Evac Lifeteam Halloween Hustle 5K and 1-mile Costume Parade is 8-11 a.m. Saturday, starting and ending on the Decatur Square. Proceeds will benefit Wise Hope Crisis Center.
RHOME TRUNK OR TREAT – The City of Rhome will hold its annual Trunk or Treat 6-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Rhome Fire Station, 261 N. School Road.
SUIT UP AND SAY BOO – Bridgeport’s annual Suit Up and Say Boo event is 5-6 p.m. Saturday. Line up begins at the Arcadia Theater, and the one-way walking trick-or-treating parade will be led by School Resource Officer Julius Pendergraft. Trick-or-treating starts at 5 p.m. More than 30 participating businesses will hand out candy to trick-or-treaters along Halsell Street. Costume contest signups will be in front of the Arcadia Theater, with prizes for all age categories.
PLANT SALE – Decatur FFA will hold its final fall plant sale 8 a.m.-noon Saturday at the Decatur High School Greenhouse. Pansies and violas are $10 per flat, and hanging baskets are $6. Proceeds support agriculture education and students enrolled in horticulture science. The greenhouse is located on top of the hill behind the high school.
PRAYER SERVICE – First Baptist Church Bridgeport will host a Community-Wide Prayer Service For our Nation 5 p.m. Sunday. Prayers will be said for local, state and national leaders, law enforcement and emergency response services. The outdoor gathering will be held in the church’s main parking lot across from the church. Bring your lawn chairs.
