UPDATE: two arrested in fatal downtown shooting | #childabductors

Marcus Winston, left, and Nathaniel Love, right, were arrested Wednesday for the shooting death of Timothy Montgomery.

Lincoln Police arrested 34-year-old Marcus D. Winston (left) and 25-year-old Nathaniel Love (right) Wednesday afternoon for the shooting death of 32-year-old Timothy Montgomery. Montgomery was killed near 13th and ‘O’ streets in downtown Lincoln early Sunday morning. First responders found him lying unresponsive on ‘O’ street. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.

In a press release, police say Winston was arrested on two charges- first degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony. After Winston’s arrest, police later arrested Love. Love was arrested on a accessory to commit 1st degree murder charge.

Winston was booked into the Lancaster County Jail around 5:30 p.m. and Love was arrested at approximately 7:00 p.m., both on Wednesday.

Lincoln Police say the case is still an ongoing investigation and any help from the public is appreciated.
