UPDATE: William Rall Reopens After COVID-19 Case | #coronavirus | #kids. | #children | #schools

School officials closed down William Rall Elementary School, Harding Avenue Elementary School and Albany Avenue Elementary School on Monday after two staff members in the district tested positive for the coronavirus. All three schools conducted full remote learning.

Later on Monday, Superintendent Daniel Giordano announced that William Rall Elementary School was deemed safe to reopen for in-person learning on Tuesday. However, Harding Avenue Elementary School and Albany Avenue Elementary School will remain closed and operate remotely another day.

Giordano stated that the district has been working with the local Department of Health as they conduct their contact tracing interviews, but since one of the staff members had been in contact with several employees at the three different schools for staff development purposes, the contact tracing process will take longer to complete.

“The limited number of staff who had proximate contact with the Albany staff member have been notified, will remain home until otherwise instructed and the appropriate coverage of their duties has been put into place,” he stated.
