UPDATE: Woman dead after set of fires on College and Cumberland, police investigating | #College. | #Students

A woman and several pets have died in a fire on College Street and McDonnell Street.

Earlier on Friday, June 25 Peterborough Police Service sent out a media release saying officers were on scene assisting the Ontario Fire Marshal after two fires in the City of Peterborough.

Just before 11 p.m. on June 24, Peterborough Police Service received several calls, including one from an officer on general patrol, about a structure fire at College Street and McDonnell Street.

Then just before midnight on June 24, emergency crews were called to a fire at an abandoned home on Cumberland Avenue. 

The investigation is ongoing in both cases and further details will be released when available.
