Washoe County Health District Kevin Dick said he will base closing schoold on what is occurring and not a trigger point of COVID-19 cases

357 new cases of COVID-19, 4 more deaths reported Monday in Nevada
10:40 a.m. Monday
Nevada’s Department of Health and Human Services reported an additional 357 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the total statewide to 71,967.
The death toll rose by four to 1,393.
The state reported Monday that an additional 6,485 tests have been performed, for a total of 902,801.
The daily positivity rate stands at 6.3%. The cumulative positivity rate is 10.4%.
The state does not update hospitalization rates on holidays or Sundays. The latest data show the number of patients hospitalized with confirmed cases was 490, and the number of suspected cases hospitalized was 107. As of the latest report, 184 patients were in ICUs across the state.
Washoe reports 94 new cases, three deaths
3:50 p.m. Sunday:
The Washoe Health District confirmed 94 new cases of COVID-19 in the county on Sunday, with a cultivate total of 7,675 cases.
Three deaths were reported, updating the death count in Washoe to 146.
One man, in his 50s, had underlying health condition. Another male, 60s, had no underlying health conditions. And a female, 80s, had underlying health conditions.
Currently, there are 1,140 active coronavirus cases in the county.
Additionally, the latest numbers show 60 recoveries. Since tracking of the outbreak began, there have been 6,389 recoveries.
There are 90 people hospitalized, down two from Saturday’s report.
Corbett is 11th WCSD elementary school to report a COVID-19 case
12:45 p.m. Sunday:
Corbett Elementary in Reno is the Washoe County School District’s 11th elementary school to report at least one positive case of COVID-19.
The school reported the case Saturday night after being informed by the Washoe County Health District that the person tested positive.
The district and the health department won’t say whether cases involve students or staff. The school district also wouldn’t say if the positive Corbett case means staff or students will be excluded from school.
According to data records being compiled by the Reno Gazette Journal, there are 29 positive cases of COVID-19 at schools in Washoe County including at two unknown charter schools and one at Bishop Manogue High School.
Nevada reports 508 new cases, one death
10:25 a.m. Sunday:
The State of Nevada Department of Health and Human Services reported 508 new COVID-19 cases on its dashboard Sunday. The total number of the cases across the state increased to 71,610.
Numbers reported by the state reflect figures through Saturday.
Additionally, the department’s report showed one person had a corona-virus related death. Nevada’s COVID-19 death toll is now at 1,389.
There are currently 490 people hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 cases. The number is down 24 from the previous day.
The state’s report also showed nine more people were admitted into intensive care units.
