Warwick man arrested for possessing child porn

A Warwick man has been arrested following an investigation from law enforcement uncovering alleged possession of child pornography.

The Rhode Island State Police’s (ICAC) Internet Crimes Against Children task force arrested 52-year-old James Norman of Topaz Road.

A tip received by police led them to issue a search warrant to Norman’s residence. Upon the search, police seized several images and e-mails.

Norman works as a licensed social worker and has worked as a therapist for several facilities around Providence and Cranston for 25 years.

He was arraigned and held on $50,000 surety bail, and ordered no contact with children under 16 and is prohibited from accessing the internet.

A person found guilty of possession of child pornography can be subject to a $5,000 fine and/or five years in prison.
