Wayne Schools to Expand Memorial Day Break to Five Days | #Education

WAYNE, NJ – Memorial Day Weekend is likely to be five days long for the Wayne Township Public Schools this year because of unused emergency days, according to the Wayne schools website.

Despite a cold and relatively snowy winter, the Wayne schools only closed twice for inclement weather this past season. This was due in part to virtual learning where no one had to travel to school for teaching and learning to occur.

When the Board of Education adopted the 2020-2021 school calendar, they added four emergency days in case of snow days or other emergencies. Because only two days were used, the other two days will be added to the Memorial Day weekend beak.
