Latasha Dove, who was accused of abducting her 16-year-old daughter from a mental health care facility in Indio, was arrested on Friday in Long Beach.

The arrest occurred three days after Tuesday’s alleged abduction, where Dove pepper-sprayed a case worker escorting her daughter in the parking lot of the facility.

Indio police worked with the Long Beach Police Department to search an apartment and arrest Dove. Her daughter is now in the custody of Child Protective Services, Indio police said.

According to jail records, Dove, 49, was arrested on suspicion of child stealing and possession of tear gas. She was booked into Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.

Dove’s first court appearance is set for Tuesday at Indio Larson Justice Center. She’s being held on $25,000 bail, according to jail records.
