A woman was charged with abusing a 10-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy.

On June 16, a Guam Police Department officer responded to two children assaulted by their mother, Francine Rose Nauta, in Mangilao, according to a magistrate’s complaint filed in the Superior Court of Guam.

The oldest child told the officer Nauta slapped the right side of her face. The youngest child said Nauta punched him in the mouth for no reason, the complaint stated.

The girl told a family member about the incident, and the family member called the police. The officer saw the boy’s mouth bruised and asked the family member of Nauta’s whereabouts, the complaint stated.

The family member believed Nauta ran off but will return.

On June 17, the family member reported Nauta’s return to the residence, the complaint stated. Nauta admitted to the officer that she was arguing with her boyfriend and growing annoyed by her children, the complaint stated. She admitted to the officer that she pulled the girl’s hair and slapped her face, and punched the boy’s face, the complaint stated.

Nauta was charged with the following:

  • Two counts of family violence as a misdemeanor.
  • Two counts of child abuse as a misdemeanor.
